KEF LSX II Speakers Review
I’ve been through loads of speakers over the years — soundbars, 5.1 setups, and everything in between, from cheap to expensive. This time I wanted something that would last a long time and still feel premium years down the line. During my search I found the KEF LSX II, and between the look, the brand, and the performance, I knew they’d be perfect for my setup — whether I’m gaming, chilling, or watching movies.

Quick verdict
8/10 – They’re expensive, but the quality and performance you get from these small speakers makes them worth every penny. Even without the optional subwoofer, the bass and sound quality is phenomenal, and at high volume you don’t get that tinny sound you get from cheaper alternatives. They won’t beat a true 5.1 or 7.1 surround system, but they pack enough punch to be a genuinely enjoyable listen whether I’m gaming or watching a film.
Best for: anyone who wants premium desk speakers for gaming, music, and films without going full surround sound.
Not for: anyone on a tight budget, or anyone who specifically wants true 5.1/7.1 surround positioning.
Tested for: gaming, music, and films at low and high volume over long sessions.

Connectivity and everyday use
I’ve got these connected to my setup via USB, and they switch on automatically when I play music. If I’m away from my desk, I can switch to Bluetooth and play music straight from my phone, which is genuinely handy.
- USB connection to my PC for daily use.
- Auto power-on when audio starts playing.
- Bluetooth switch for quick phone playback.
Pros
- Absolute premium build quality and finish.
- For their size, they pack a serious punch with more than enough bass (in my opinion).
- Perfect size for a desk without taking up too much space.
- Comes with a remote, which is convenient when you’re away from your desk.
- App control makes it easy to tweak settings and switch sources.
Cons
- I wish they had a cover/grille option — personal preference mainly to protect them from my kids.
- You could argue the price is a con, but for me they’ve been worth the money.

Final verdict
These are the best speakers I’ve owned. If you’re after premium desk speakers that pack a punch, sound clean at high volume, and have the build quality to last for years, I’d genuinely call these end-game for a setup. I would 100% buy these again.
Next update: I’ll revisit this after a few months and update the score if anything changes.
