ID Gaming Spiral Mouse Pad Review

I picked up the ID Gaming Spiral mouse pad because I wanted a good-quality mouse mat that would work well for both work and gaming. I went with the 26cm x 21cm size, and for me, it feels just right. It gives enough room for normal mouse movement without taking over the whole desk.

The quality is spot on, the thickness feels just right, and it is comfortable to use. I was, however, expecting the mouse mat to be fully black with a black and white design, but the stitching around the edge is actually blue. It is not massively impactful, but I was slightly disappointed as it was not quite the look I expected.

Quick verdict

3 / 5

A well-made and comfortable mouse pad with excellent build quality, a good thickness and a practical 26cm x 21cm size that works well for both work and gaming. The main downsides are the price and the blue edge stitching, which was not quite what I expected from the design.

Best for: work setups, gaming, medium-sized desks, comfortable daily use and anyone who wants a well-made soft mouse pad.

Not for: anyone expecting a fully black design, or anyone looking for the best value option at a lower price.

Tested for: comfort, size, surface feel, work use, gaming use, thickness, desk fit and overall value.

How I use it

I use the ID Gaming Spiral mouse pad as a medium-sized mouse mat for both work and gaming. The 26cm x 21cm size feels like a good balance because it gives enough space without feeling too large on the desk. It is comfortable under the hand and the thickness feels just right during longer sessions.

  • I use it for both work and gaming.
  • The 26cm x 21cm size feels just right for my setup.
  • It is comfortable to use and the thickness feels spot on.
  • The underside does not work perfectly on top of my Oakywood mat, but that is mainly because it is not really designed to be used on top of another mat.

Final verdict

Overall, the ID Gaming Spiral mouse pad is a good-quality mat and there is a lot I like about it. The quality is spot on, the thickness feels just right, and the 26cm x 21cm size works well for both work and gaming. It is also comfortable to use, which makes it easy to recommend from a build-quality point of view.

The main thing that let it down for me was the design expectation. I thought the mouse mat would be fully black with a black and white look, but the stitching around the edge is actually blue. It is not a huge issue, but it was still slightly disappointing because it was not quite what I expected.

The underside also does not work perfectly on top of my Oakywood mat, although that is more down to how I am using it rather than a fault with the product. It is not really designed to be placed on top of another mat. Price wise, it feels expensive for what it is, which is why I have rated it 3 out of 5. That said, based on the quality, I would definitely buy mats from ID Gaming again.

3 / 5 – excellent quality, comfortable feel and a good size for work and gaming, but the price and unexpected blue stitching hold it back.
