AliExpress E-Sports Transparent Mouse Pad Review

The AliExpress E-Sports Transparent Mouse Pad is one of those products that looks much better in the listing images than it does in real life. The idea of a transparent mouse pad sounds good, especially if you want something minimal for your desk setup, but once I actually placed it on my desk, it did not really work for me.

In fairness, it may look better directly on a wooden desk or if I removed my oak wood mat, but paired with my current setup, it was not a great look. Performance-wise, I definitely would not call it an e-sports mouse pad. It is usable, but for me, it feels more suited to light work use than gaming, especially if you play shooters.

Quick verdict

2 / 5

A transparent mouse pad that looks interesting in theory, but did not really deliver for me in practice. The design looked better in the product images, it did not suit my setup when placed over my oak wood mat, and the performance does not feel strong enough to justify the e-sports branding.

Best for: light work use, minimal desk setups, occasional browsing, office tasks and anyone who specifically wants a transparent mouse pad.

Not for: serious gaming, shooters, competitive use, premium desk setups or anyone expecting true e-sports performance.

Tested for: setup aesthetics, surface feel, casual use, gaming comfort, mouse movement and overall value.

Why it did not work for my setup

The main issue for me is how it looks in my actual setup. The product images made the transparent design look clean and modern, but once I placed it over my oak wood mat, it did not really blend in the way I hoped.

It may work better directly on a wooden table or a simpler surface, but for my setup, it took away from the clean look rather than improving it.

How I would use it

If I had to use it, I would probably keep it for work, browsing or general desk use rather than gaming. The surface is acceptable for normal mouse movement, but it does not feel like something I would want to rely on for faster-paced games.

  • Better suited to work use than gaming.
  • Acceptable for light browsing or office tasks.
  • Not something I would use for shooters or competitive games.

Pros

  • The transparent design is an interesting idea.
  • It may look better directly on a wooden desk or clean surface.
  • Acceptable for light work, browsing or casual office use.
  • Low purchase price compared with many desk accessories.

Cons

  • Looks better in the product images than it does in my setup.
  • Did not pair well with my oak wood desk mat.
  • Does not feel like a true e-sports mouse pad.
  • Not something I would choose for shooters or competitive gaming.
  • Does not feel worth the £12 I paid.
  • I would only use it if I had to.

Final verdict

The AliExpress E-Sports Transparent Mouse Pad is not something I would personally recommend. The idea of a transparent mouse pad sounds good, and I will admit the product images made it look much better than I expected, but in reality it did not really suit my setup.

When paired with my oak wood mat, it just was not a great look. Maybe it would work better directly on a wooden table, or if I removed the mat completely, but as part of my current desk setup, it did not add the clean premium feel I was hoping for.

Performance-wise, I definitely would not describe it as e-sports. It is acceptable for basic use, and I could see myself using it for work if I had to, but I would not choose it for gaming and definitely not for shooters.

Overall, would I recommend it? No. Was it worth the £12? Also no. Would I use it? Only if I had to.

2 / 5 – an interesting transparent mouse pad idea, but it did not suit my setup and does not feel strong enough for serious gaming.
